Federal College of Education (Technical), Ekiadolor Host 3rd Matriculation Ceremony in a Grand, Inspiring Affair.
Federal College of Education (Technical), Ekiadolor-Benin, on Friday May 23, 2025 held its third matriculation ceremony in a vibrant and inspiring event that marked the formal induction of newly admitted students into the academic community of the institution.
The ceremony, held at the College’s ultra-modern 500-seater lecture theatre, drew a distinguished gathering that included the Chairman of the College’s 2nd Governing Council, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Tukur Jikamshi, alongside members of the Governing Council, Principal Officers, Deans, Directors, Heads of Departments and Units, parents, guardians, invited guests, and the matriculating students themselves.
Notably, traditional leaders from the institution’s host communities—Ekiadolor, Iguedaiken, Ighuikhimwin, and Iguodia—were also in attendance, underscoring the College’s strong ties with its surrounding communities. Security agencies, including the Nigeria Police Force (Ekiadolor Division) and the Department of State Services (DSS), Ovia North-East, were present to provide support and ensure a smooth event.
One of the highlights of the ceremony was the administration of the matriculation oath by the College Registrar, Mr. Itedjere O. Henry. The event also featured a student exhibition showcasing innovative projects from the School of Secondary Education (Technical) and the School of Vocational Education—demonstrating the institution’s growing reputation for hands-on, skills-based learning. This aligns with the Federal Government’s renewed focus on technical and vocational education under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Delivering the keynote address, Governing Council Chairman Alhaji Jikamshi charged the new students to be disciplined and focused. “You are now ambassadors of this institution. I urge you to embody integrity, excellence, and respect for the College’s regulations,” he advised.
The Provost, Dr. Emmanuel N. Asagha, also addressed the students, warning them against engaging in social vices and examination malpractice. “This is the beginning of your journey to greatness. Your future is shaped by the decisions you make today,” he said.
Other members of the Governing Council took turns to offer words of encouragement, calling on students to take full advantage of the College’s academic and vocational training to build successful careers.
The event was widely commended by attendees for its organization and impact, further reinforcing the College’s vision of producing technically skilled, morally upright, and self-reliant graduates committed to national development.
The event concluded on a celebratory note, with students, staff and guests commending the college leadership for the smooth and impactful organisation of the ceremony.
