FCE (Technical) Ekiadolor Hosts Counseling Hour on Assessment Malpractices and Human Dignity.
Counseling Hour Highlights Ethical Implications of Academic Malpractice
Federal College of Education (Technical), Ekiadolor, held another impactful episode of its Counseling Hour series yesterday 14th April 2025, tailored specifically for first-year students. The session focused on a critical issue in academia: Assessment Malpractices and Human Dignity.
The event featured a thought-provoking presentation by Dr. Emmanuel Okom (PhD), who emphasized the ethical implications of cheating and other forms of academic dishonesty. Dr. Okom highlighted how such malpractices not only undermine the integrity of the education system but also diminish the dignity of individuals involved.
In his words, “When a student engages in examination malpractice, it is not just a violation of school rules — it is a betrayal of personal and academic values.”
The event was well-attended by key figures in the college community, including Deans of various Schools, Heads of Departments, Lecturers, and Non-Teaching Staff, all showing strong support for instilling discipline and integrity among the student body.
The Counseling Hour initiative continues to play a pivotal role in shaping the moral and academic development of students, with each session addressing timely issues that foster personal growth and academic excellence.
